Take this sofa set designed by Peter Hvidt. The condition seems to be good. It’s versatile because its in two pieces, it’s not light in look and would fit perfectly into a small contemporary apartment. Finding something in all-original condition can be a challenge, but is an important factor to serious collectors, and can help preserve resell value. This pair is composed if teak and chrome and not only features original upholstery, but also spring cushions and labels.

Copenhagen-born Hvidt set up his own studio in 1942 and operated in various forms until 1975. He, along with business partner Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen operated Hvidt & Mølgaard, a studio which created a number of pioneering sets of furniture including Portex (1945) and Ax (1950), using a laminated technique for production by Fritz Hansen.
