Beverly Hopkins

(1926-2007) This Oregon-born artist is known as a regional painter in the Springfield, Missouri area. Beverly Hopkins graduated from Mills College in Oakland, California and worked as a docent in Pennsylvania before heading to Europe. returning ti the U.S., she became a librarian at the Springfield Art Museum and later taught art at Drury College. She earned an MFA from the University of Oregon and returned to Springfield to teach art at Southwest Missouri State University, retiring in 1988. In 2004 her paintings were exhibited at the Springfield Art Museum. Her work is in the collection of the Springfield Art Museum.
