The Country off Madison

Posted By ewmiller on November 29, 2009

I thought for a moment we had stepped off Madison Avenue and into the Country Music Hall of Fame. We came to Christies to see American paintings, but found ourselves instead immersed in the world of guitars, rhinestones, cowboy boots and vinyl. From Johnny Cash to Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Hank Williams, Bill Monroe and even Buddy Holly, it’s an exhibit of who’s who in Country Music. The items are from the estate of Western Swing singer Hank Thompson, who died in 2007. The sale will take place at 10 a.m. on December 3rd. I wonder if any of these items will make their way to Nashville.
